FAQ Questions:
Will vinyl decals damage my paint or surface when removed?
No — when applied and removed correctly, our vinyl decals are designed not to damage paint or properly prepared surfaces. High-quality vinyl uses pressure-sensitive adhesive that bonds securely while still allowing safe removal.
When removing a decal, gently warming it with a hairdryer or heat gun will soften the adhesive and make removal easier. Peel slowly at a shallow angle and remove any remaining adhesive with a suitable adhesive remover or warm, soapy water.
Please note that very old, poorly maintained, or freshly resprayed paintwork may be more susceptible to damage. We recommend ensuring paint has fully cured before applying vinyl.
Should I apply my vinyl decals wet or dry?
Our vinyl decals can be applied using either a wet or dry method, depending on the size of the decal, the surface, and your confidence level.
Before applying any decal, always ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from dust or grease. Using a microfiber cloth is recommended for best results.
Wet application
This method involves lightly misting the surface with water before applying the decal. It allows you to reposition the vinyl during installation, making it ideal for larger decals or intricate designs. Wet application also helps reduce air bubbles and creases, resulting in a smoother finish.
Dry application
Dry application is quicker and best suited to smaller decals or flat, smooth surfaces. The vinyl adheres immediately on contact, so careful positioning is important. This method is ideal when placement is straightforward and no adjustment time is required.
Which should I choose?
Choose wet application if the decal is large, detailed, or if you’d like more flexibility during positioning. Choose dry application for smaller decals when you’re confident with placement first time.
What tools do I need to apply vinyl decals?
For the best results, we recommend the following tools:
- A squeegee or application card
- Microfiber cloth
- Spray bottle (for wet application)
- Masking tape (to help with positioning)
- A clean, dust-free surface
Using the correct tools helps ensure smooth application and minimises air bubbles.
Can vinyl be applied in cold weather?
Vinyl can be applied in cooler conditions, but for best results we recommend an application temperature between 10°C and 30°C, with an ideal surface temperature of 18–22°C.
Applying vinyl in cold conditions can reduce adhesion and flexibility, increasing the risk of lifting. If installing in colder weather, gently warming both the vinyl and the surface with a hairdryer or heat gun can help. Take care not to overheat the vinyl, as excessive heat can cause stretching or distortion.
How long should I wait before washing my vehicle after installation?
We recommend waiting at least 48 hours before washing your vehicle. This allows the adhesive to fully bond to the surface.
If the decal was applied using the wet method, waiting 72 hours is recommended for optimal adhesion.
How do I clean vinyl decals after installation?
Once fully cured, vinyl decals can be cleaned using warm water and a mild detergent. Use a soft cloth, sponge, or microfiber cloth and gently wipe the surface.
Avoid abrasive pads, harsh chemicals, or aggressive scrubbing, as these can damage the vinyl or weaken the adhesive over time.
Can I pressure wash over vinyl decals?
Yes — with care. Keep the pressure washer at least 30–50cm away from the decal and avoid directing the jet directly at the edges. Use a wide spray pattern rather than a concentrated jet to reduce the risk of lifting or peeling.
Can I make changes to my order after placing it?
Our standard processing time is 1–2 working days. During this time, you may contact us to request changes such as colour selection or personalisation, and we’ll do our best to help.
Once your order has entered production, changes can no longer be made. We strongly recommend checking all details carefully before placing your order, including spelling, sizes, colours, and delivery information.
My delivery address is wrong – what should I do?
If you’ve entered an incorrect delivery address, please contact us as soon as possible. We’ll do our best to update it before dispatch.
Once an order has been dispatched, we’re unable to amend delivery details or redirect parcels. Any failed delivery or return may result in additional delivery charges, so we strongly recommend double-checking your address at checkout.
Do you offer custom orders?
Yes — we’re happy to create custom vinyl and signage solutions to suit your requirements. This includes resizing decals to fit specific vehicles, surfaces, or applications.
